See a Year of Your Retirement in One Picture

Most retirement tools hand you a spreadsheet: a row for every year, columns for income, taxes, withdrawals, RMDs, Medicare. It’s accurate, but it’s hard to feel. Scanning numbers, it’s tough to answer a simple question — where does my money come from this year, and where does it go?

The new Flow tab answers that in a single picture. Pick any year of your plan and it draws that year as a circle of twelve parts: income, Social Security, your accounts, withdrawals, RMDs, Roth conversions, taxes, expenses, healthcare, Medicare, cash flow, and what’s left for your heirs. The connecting lines are drawn to scale, so the biggest movements are the ones you notice first. In a conversion year, you see a thick line running into Taxes before you read a single figure.

Click any part of the circle to open it. Select Taxes and you’ll see exactly which sources are driving the bill — Social Security, an RMD, a conversion, a withdrawal. Select Accounts and you’ll see how the balance splits across pre-tax, Roth, brokerage, cash, and HSA. Drag the year slider and watch the whole picture shift as you move from working years into retirement, into RMDs, and beyond.

Then there are the what-if sliders. Nudge your pre-tax balance, your spending, or your expected return, and the entire picture recomputes on the spot. Curious what a leaner market does to your withdrawals? Drag and see. It never changes your saved plan — a “what-if” badge reminds you you’re exploring, and Reset puts everything back.

Flow won’t replace the projection table. It gives you what a table can’t: the shape of a single year, at a glance. It’s on the Flow tab now, on every screen — with a compact version built for phones.

Open the Flow tab and see a year of your plan a new way.
